The Almost Christian and Apostate

Broad is the road that Leeds to death,
And thousands walk together there;
But wisdom shows a narrower path,
With here and there a traveler.
“Deny thyself, and take thy cross,”
Is the Redeemer’s great command !
Nature must count her gold but dross,
If she would gain the heav’nly land.
This fearful soul that tires and faints,
And walks the way of God no more,
Is but esteemed almost a saint,
And makes his own destruction sure.
Lord, let not all my hopes be vain;
Create my heart entirely new;
Which hypocrites could ne’er attain;
Which false apostates never knew.

Holiness

The way of Holiness is a very narrow path.
Holiness consists of the conformity of our will and desires, to the will of God. It is produced by the Power and Glory of the Holy Spirit through the regeneration and ongoing Sanctification of the sinner. The law of God is written on his or her heart; wherein they are inclined to resist temptation, to abandon sin, and to practice complete obedience to the commands and the will of God. In following God’s Word and His will, we choose to reject our carnal desires and take up our cross and die to self daily. We find strength always in Yahshua (Jesus) Christ through His Holy Spirit, who is the author and finisher of our faith. Hebrews 10:16 This is the covenant that I will make with them after those days, saith the Lord, I will put my laws into their hearts, and in their minds will I write them. Hebrews 12:1-2 Wherefore seeing we also are compassed about with so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which doth so easily beset us, and let us run with patience the race that is set before us, Looking unto Yahshua (Jesus) the author and finisher of our faith; who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God
